DOCKS AT BREST

LITTLE ENEMY ACTIVITY

LONDON, January 26,

The French Atlantic naval base at Brest received another hammering from the Royal Air Force last night, when bombers pounded the docks where the German battleships Scharnhorst, Gneisenau, and Prinz Eugen are sheltering. All our planes returned safely. Early in the month this target was attacked eight times in ten days.

In daylight today a German plane dropped bombs near a coastal village in north-east Scotland. There were no casualties and no daamge was done.

An official statement says there was slight enemy air activity over Northern Ireland this afternoon. Air defences went into action, but no incidents have been reported. Only a few German raiders were over this country last night, and one of them was destroyed.
