TOMMY-GUN GIRLS
British housewives, women clerks, and factory hands ai*e now receiving rifle range instruction. Their organiser, Mrs. R. Randall, of Slough, said: "I am inundated with letters from all over Britain asking to join my Amazon Army."
These "tommy-gun girls" responded to a call by Mrs. Randall, who a few days ago declared that if Britain were invaded the women "will carry out Prime Minister Churchill's words to fight in the streets and hills and never give in."
Her appeal was made primarily to all women between 40 and 60 who cannot work in war industries or the militarised women's services.
