TROUSER CUFFS INSANITARY

The Italian National Confederation of Artisans and Tailors,* meeting at Milan, voted recently that, men's trouser cuffs be declared insanitary, pro-British, and generally unstylish. The federation declared that cuffs were '^a, waste of perfectly good material that should be used elsewhere," and added: "Trouser cuffs are veritable dust-bins that are most unhealthy to have attached to the trouser legs. Furthermore, this fad was introduced by a member of the British Royal Family who went in for setting style as a Prince."

News has been received in •Christchurch that Lieutenant-Colonel S. M. Satterthwaite, who was stationed at General' Headquarters of the 2nd N.Z.E.F., is now in command of the 26th: Battalion.
