Provision will be made by the Soldiers' Financial Assistance Board to assist members of the National Military Reserve engaged on full-time service. This was announced today by the Minister of Finance (Mr. Nash).

' As a result of this decision National Reservists affected will be able to apply for financial help in meeting commitments, such as rent, mortgage interest, and insurance premiums. In carrying out this policy, the board does not aim, howeyer, at making up the difference between civilian and military pay.

The National Reservists mobilised are not called upon' to pay social security or national security taxes on their military pay, though the Social Security Fund receives its proportion from State funds.
