TWO RUBBER PLANTATIONS
(P.A.) DUNEDIN, January 6. The secretary of the Dominion, Rubber Company, Ltd., has received the following cablegram from the company's agent in Malaya: "Dominion and New Zealand properties occupied: White and family safe." The Dominion Rubber Company's estate is bounded by the Kelantan River and is about 18 miles from the Thailand border. Adjoining it is the New Zealand Malay Rubber Company's plantation, the head office of which is in Oamaru. Mr. L. E. White, who has visited the Dominion twice in the last few years, is the manager of both companies. No other news is available, but the directors of the Dominion Rubber Company felt that in the interests of shareholders and the public the foregoing information should be made known. If any further news is received it will be made public.
