Mrs. George Vercoe, Wellington, is j the guest of her sister, Mrs. J. N. Wad- [ dell, Devonport, and intends to spend several months in Auckland. Miss E. Walker, of Island Bay, who has been absent in Australia for the past 18 months, returned to her home [ unexpectedly for Christmas. She had made arrangements to spend her Christmas holidays in Adelaide, but when Japan entered the war changed her plans.
