OTAKI DATE NOT ALLOWED
The application by the Otaki Maori Racing Club for permission to hold a one-day meeting on Boxing Day was considered by a sub-committee of the New Zealand Racing Conference today. The suggestion was vetoed. ' The executive was fully in accord with the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr. Parry) in respect to restricting racing under the present war conditions, and from January 3, 1942, all permits will be subjected to review before being confirmed. It was further decided that no changes of venue would be permitted unless the club's course had been taken over by the military, nor would transfers from country to metropolitan courses be permitted. ■ | !
