The. young Swi*- merchant fleet, created ill Anrii. 10; 1- 1. now counfs spvpti units w'th a total capacity of 39.120 tons. This .tonnagp however, is clearly insufficient for t^-> nation's imno.vts and exports. Cor^id^ring the difficulties now prevailing-with regard to the acquisition of new .vessels, Switzerland is doing her best to charter foreign vessels sailing under their own flags.
