BATTLE FOR SUPPLIES

(Rec. 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 1

Stockholm reports that the Germans are now describing the battle of Libya as a battle for supplies. The "Berliner Lakalanzeiger" says: "The battle our soldiers are experiencing in the desert must be a veritable inferno."

A communique issued in Rome stated: "There has been local fighting in Marrnarica, with artillery. activity on the Tobruk and Sollum fronts. A German and Italian air force carried out raids against motorised units, railway lines, and supply centres at Mersa Matruh."
