MRS. W. G. HOLDSWORTH.
The' death of Mrs. Elizabeth Anne Holdsworth, M.8.E., wife of Mr. W. G Holdsworth, M.8.E., occurred at her home, 10 Faifview Crescent, Kelburn, this week.
Mrs. Holdsworth was the eldest daughter of the late Mr. George Buckeridge, Nelson. She was trained as a school teacher at the Normal School, Wellington. She was one of the first volunteer workers with Base Records during and after the last war, and for their services she and her husband were awarded the M.B.E.
For a number of years and up to the time of her death Mrs. Holdsworth was treasurer of the Women's Auxiliary of the Sudan United Mission. She was a member of the Anglican Board of Missions, of the League of Nations Union, and of the Navy League. She was also a member of the Festival Choral Society, and of the Royal Society. Mrs. Holdsworth was actively connected with Sunday school work for many years, and was a member of St. Peter's Church choir.
She leaves her husband and a sister, Miss E. N. Buckeridge, Wellington, and a brother, Mr. George Buckeridge, Hawera.
