WARTIME STRIKES
DRASTIC ACTION URGED
On the recommendation of a special committee, the Dominion counpil of the N.Z.R.S.A. yesterday, adopted the following remit:—
"That this Dominion council views with grave dissatisfaction the lack of drastic action taken with regard to strikes and strikers in the Dominion, having regard to the necessity for equality of sacrifice by all sections of the community. It is felt that the least that can be expected of those in the comparative safety of this Dominion when compared with the sacrifices required of those in the Armed Forces is that they should contribute the maximum effort; and if this is not forthcoming, then the Government should take suitable steps to compel these strikers to realise their responsibilities and adequate penalties be imposed."
