FIRE IN ADELAIDE ROAD
At 9.34 a.m. today a fire was reported in a combined washhouse and bathroom at 88 Adelaide Road, and three machines attended. Bucket pumps were used to suppress the blaze, but the southern end of the builduig was badly damaged. It is thought that the outbreak was caused through sparks from a neighbouring chimney. The occupier of the premises is Mr. J. Toft.
Mr. F. Sharp, a ship's fireman, received burns to his left arm when a furnace blew back at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. The .Free Ambulance took him
