BUILDING OF ROADS

ACTIVITY IN IRAN

LONDON, October 26,

The building of new roads in Iran to speed up the supplies is now in full swing. This was revealed in Teheran today by Brigadier Sir Godfrey Rhodes, the Canadian" officer in charge of British transport through Iran to Russia. He said that in addition to the speeding up of railways, new roads were being built and widespread road maintenance was being instituted. There was daily exchange of information with the Russians, and the liaison was excellent.

It is understood that Britain aims to send Russia supplies via the Persian Gulf-Caspian Sea route. It is stated that India's supplies to Russia and the Middle East depend almost exclusively on transport facilities.
