"NEW ZEALAND AT WORK"
(To the Editor.) Sir—Some evenings ago, I was by my radio at 7 o'clock, when the programme of the station to which I was listening was interrupted by its being switched on to 2YA for the broadcast of a series entitled "New Zealand at Work." I was particularly interested to hear a glowing account of Government regulations and control of the fishing industry, because, by a strange coincidence, I had only an evening _ or two before been listening to a devastating criticism of this in a debate broadcast from the House. The last two or three nights of this series have been occupied by a panegyric on the present Government housing policy. Now I happen to have' haji some experience of the working and results of this policy and my opinion of it is very different. I understood that the purpose of this series was to let the public know what New Zealand industry was doing to help win the .war^ and my recollection is that the series commenced in this way and was excellent. If it is to be continued in the present way as political propaganda, is it too much to ask that the broadcast be confined to the YA stations and the ordinary programmes of the other stations left for those who are not interested. —I am, etc.,
FED UP,
