Sir, —I want to complain about the way we in Wellington treat our visiting artists, lecturers, singers, and the like. On Sunday night I listened to a lecturer in the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall, and before the lecturer had finished he asked if he could be excused if he put his overcoat and woolly scarf on. Why is it our visitors are subjected to such misery because our halls are apparently without adequate heating? This is no tropical climate and I maintain that it is not creditable that our halls are so cold.— I am, etc.,
