ROAD CYCLING

Auckland.—The North Island and Auckland Provincial Cycling Championships were held in conjunction over a 100-mile course from ?apakura to Ngaruawahia and back. The race was won by Pinfold (scr). of the Papatoetoe Club. J. "V. Westbury (7 minutes), of the Ponebe Club, Wellington, was second. Christchurch. —L. Hubber (Wihton) and R. Duncan (Bluff), fought out a desperate finish in the home stretch of the 100-mile "round tha gorges" cycling road race, Hiibber winning by barely six inches. Fastest time and the South Island 100-mile senior championship went to Hubber, who covered the distance in 4h 53min 37sec. The junior championship was won by A. Mills' (Linwood), whose riding time was 4hr 57min 38sec. There, were 59 competitors.
