WASHINGTON, October 4. One of President Roosevelt's closest and best-informed political associates told the United Press1 that diplomatic developments are shaping towards an ! alignment of world Roman Catholicism against the Nazis. ■-.-■■ I President Roosevelt is hopeful of a rapprochement between, the Vatican and Moscow, leading to an exchange of diplomats in time "to exert worldwide influence against.the Axis. Mr. Roosevelt disclosed at his Press conference yesterday, that he had asked Mr. W. A. Harriman, leader of the United States delegation to the Three-Power Conference at Moscow, to take up the question of religious freedom in Russia. He said he had not yet received any report from Mr. Harriman. . Speaking at'Fort Wayne, - Indiana, at an America First rally, Mr. C. A. Lindbergh alleged that President: Roosevelt was moving towards suspension of the 1942 national election. He said that: "one: man" Goverriment had already plunged "the nation into undeclared war. Saying he had been subjected to a smear campaign, Lindbergh, declared: "My only motive is the welfare of my country and my eivilisation. This is not the life I enjoy. Political life is not my ambition."
