AIRMEN IN CANADA
"N.Z. AMBASSADORS"
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, This Day. | "The only trouble we find with your New Zealand airmen is that they are taking our prettiest girls," said the Canadian Trade Commissioner to Australia, Lieutenant-Colonel Cosgrave, who is visiting New Zealand after a vacation in Canada,
"The behaviour of New Zealanders is of a particularly high standard," he said. "They 'are in the fullest sense ambassadors of the Dominion. The people have taken to them, and I am sure some of them will be returning to Canada after the war. Some of our cities complain they do hot get enough opportunities of entertaining New Zealanders." Lieutenant-Colonel Cosgrave said i that the outstanding feature of the New Zealand airmen was the high standard of their training before reach- ! ing Canada. They and the Australians" were always in the top bracket.
