HOUSE AT FRENCH PASS

BLENHEIM, This Day,

A slip, which came down at the rear of the property of Mr. C. S. Jacobsen, Fennel Bay, French Pass, on Thursday evening struck his six-roomed dwelling and carried half of it away.

Exceptionally heavy rain was, experienced at French Pass and a large number of landslides were caused but so far as is known Mr. Jacobsen's is the only instance of actual damage to property. Mr. Jacobsen, who has a family of eight, had ample warning of the slip and they all shifted to a neighbouring homestead. . ' *.
