(P.A.) HASTINGS, October 2. The weather was fine and mild for the opening day of the Hawke's Bay Spring Meeting, and the course was in excellent order. There was a large attendance of patrons, the totalisator handling £10,685 10s, compared with £8654 10s last year. L. M.
