ALBERTA DEFAULTS
(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.) EDMONTON, October 1. The principal bond maturity of 2,853,230 dollars, payable in Canada, was defaulted today by the Alberta Provincial Government. Officials said that as in the previous defaults the province would offer to pay interest at half the original rate of 6 per cent. The defaults have now amounted to 21,458,000 dollars. Alberta adopted a social credit policy, Mr. William Aberhart being Premier.
