"SEVEN OBJECTIONS MET"

Explaining in the House of Representatives today why the amendment he had moved at the opening of the Rebate on the Social Security Amendment Bill for the postponement of the operation of the free medical service until the doctors overseas returned had been withdrawn, the Leader of the Opposition (Mr. Holland) said that seven of the eight objections that were taken to the Bill in its original form had been removed by the amendments that had since been introduced by the Government. Replying to Mr. Holland, the Deputy Leader of the House (Mr. Nash) examined the reasons given by Mr. Holland in his amendment and contended that those reasons were still operating. It was plain, simple, unadulterated humbug to say otherwise, he said.
