SERIOUS CHARGE
ARMED ROBBERY ALLEGED
YOUNG MAN REMANDED
Charged with robbery while armed with gun and bludgeon, Gwilt George Stone, aged 21, a clerk, was remanded by Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today to appear next Friday. The charge was that at Wellington on August 2, being armed with offensive weapons, namely a gun and a bludgeon, he robbed William Magee of 15s. An application for the suppression of Stone's name in the meantime was refused.. About 7.30 ,on the night of August 2, Mr. William Magee, a taxi-driver, was robbed by a man whom he had just driven from the Central Library, via Roseneath and Kilbirnie. The man produced a revolver and a waddy, pocketed the money which Mr. Magee handed over, and disappeared into the darkness.
