LONDON, September 26.
The Russian Government has given official recognition to the Free French movement. This was announced, tonight.
The Soviet Ambassador, M. Maisky, in a letter to General de Gaulle, said that his Government recognised General de Gaulle as leader of all Free Frenchmen and head of the Free French movement.
The Russian Government was prepared to help Free France in the common cause against Hitlerite Germany and her allies. At the same time, M. Maisky emphasised the Soviet Government's determination, after the common victory, to fully restore the independence and greatness of France. In a letter to M. Maisky, General de Gaulle expressed the gratitude of Free France and the determination" to fight at the side of Russia and her allies until final victory. '■
