THE BORONIA.

] This is the story of Boronia. Living in a deep gully were a tribe of pixies. Their houses were beneath the fronds of the tree ferns and their curtains were made of gossamer thread. The Black Water-snake, who also lived in the gully, was the pixies' enemy. He was cunning and cruel, and loved catching the pixies unaware and crushing their-small bodies. On a plain a little way from the. pixies'. home lived a lovely little boy. The pixies were very fond of him. He used to go every day to play in the little stream by the dell. There was an ugly little pixie who loved the little boy so much that his face changed whenever he saw him.
