RAILWAY SUPERANNUATION

An originating summons affecting the payment of railway superannuation was heard in the Supreme Court today by Mr. Justice Ostler, who reserved his decision. Section 116 of the Government Railways Act, 1926, provides that the superannuation of a railway officer who has served in more Hhan one grade shortly before his retirement is to be based oh his average salary. The question for the Court ! was whether that provision applied to a person who had, served in more than one sub-grade of the same grade. The plaintiff was the Railway Officers' Institute (Mr. F. C.
