WASHINGTON, September 25,

The Duke of Windsor discussed the international .situation with Mr. Cordell Hull and afterwards was surrounded by pressmen at an impromptu Press conference.

One reporter asked whether the Duke was confident that Britain would Win the war.

He replied: "Absolutely!" •. The Duchess waited in the car wear- • ing a Wallis blue dress, a Juliet cap, and a nose veil.

Employees of the State Department assembled and cheered as the Duke returned to the car and the couple drove off to pay a formal call on President Roosevelt.
