COMPANIONSHIP OF THE
BATH
NEW ZEALANDER HONOURED
RUGBY, September 24. Among R.A.F. awards approved by the Kane are the Companionship of the BathTfo? Acting Air Marshal F. M. Drummond, who was born in Perth, Western Australia, and who is now Deputy Air Officer Commanding in Chief Middle East, and Air Vice Marshal A. Conirtgham, who was born in
Brisbane and is now Air Officer Commanding an R.A.F. group in the Middle East. Wing Commander G. E. Sampson, of Brisbane, who is now engaged on staff duties at the headcmarters of the Fighter Command, receives the 0.8.E.—8.0.W.
Air Vice Marshal Arthur Coningham, D.5.0., M.C., D.F.C., A.F.C., C.8., is an old boy of Wellington College. He was born in Brisbane, Queensland. He served between 1914 and 1916 with the New Zealand Forces at Samoa and Gallipoli, and in 1916 he entered the Royal Flying Corps. After the war, during which he shot down over 30 enemy aircraft, he was awarded a permanent commission and served in Irak and Egypt. He was in command of the first flight to Nigeria in 1925 and he took part in the East Africa-London flights of 1926. He • married, a few years ago, Lady .Nancye Frank, widow of Sir Howard Frank, of London.
