AWAPUNI GALLOPS

Conditions were ideal at Awapuni yesterday morning when Levin candidates galloped on the course proper, the flags being fairly close in.
High Class and Royal Return could have improved upon their lmin 9 3-5 sec for five furlongs; The Buzzer worked over seven furlongs, coming home the last three in 40sec; Sandy Bay and Taane Pango were not under pressure in recording lmin 9 l-ssec for five; Courting ran the same distance in lmin 8 2-ssec; Elusory ran the last six furlongs of a seven-furlong task in lmin 26see,\. Henry of Huntingdon ran six furlongs in lmin 25sec; Colombo Bay and Miss Leighon sprinted half a mile in 53 3-ssec, breaking 39sec for the last three.
Several horses were schooled. Great Quex went once round, improving as he went; Lacan gave a very satisfactory display over three hurdles; and Pufceko went twice round. He was tiring towards the finish, but he jumped well'
