LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL
At a short sitting of the Legislative Council yesterday afternoon three Bills were received "from the House. The Manukau County Council Empowering Bill, which will be sponsored in the Council by the Hon. B. Martin (Auckland), and the Wellington Free Ambulance Bill, sponsored by the Hon. T. Brindle (Wellington), were read the first time and referred to the Loca) Bills Committee, The Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Bill was read the first time and will be proceeded with today.
