GENERAL DENTZ

TO BE FREED TOMORROW

LONDON, September 2,

It is announced in Cairo that General Dentz, formerly Vichy High Commissioner in Syria, who has been detained in Jerusalem, will be freed tomorrow.

Two other officers will also be freed as soon as two British officers, held by Vichy and reported to be ill, have been released.

A protest is also to be made to Marshal Petain for the treatment meted out by Vichy to British officers captured in Syria.
