NOTES MADE OVER GERMANY

LONDON, September 2

British anti-aircraft officers have flown in recent raids over Germany for the purpose of comparing defensive tactics before the winter shooting really begins, says the. "Daily Mail." They watched the anti-aircraft fire, studied the disposition of the guns, and paid particular attention to the way in which the German searchlights co-operate with the night fighters. Their main conclusions are as follows: —First, the Germans throw up more fire than the British in the defence of key cities, but it is extravagant and lacking the scientific precision which Britain aims to achieve during the lull. Second, the British radio location is ahead of Germany's. Third. Germany has so far produced no startling defence surprise. The German anti-aircraft units have' no new technique, whereas London's gun strength has increased tremendously. Many more searchlights will be employed in co-operation with the night fighters. .
