NEW YORK, August 26. M. Hubert Ansiaux. inspector of thft National Bank of Belgium, before leaving for London by the Atlantic Clipper today, said that the Bank of France has recently given 230,000,000 dollars' worth of Belgian gold to Germany. "The gold was left deposited in France from November, 1939, to October 5, 1940. and when the collapse of France was imminent the Belgian Government asked the bank to transfer the gold to the United States," he said. "Instead, the bank shipped it to Dakar, after which, without consulting us. it transferred the gold to the Reichsbahk's branch in Marseilles, which has since sent it to Berlin."
