NATIONAL SAVINGS
The National Savings Committee announces that up to August 15, £2,688,073 has been received since the campaign commenced early in October, 1940; £1,600,838 represents deposits in National Savings Accounts and £1,087,235 the proceeds from the sale of National Savings Bonds. Of the total of £2,688,073, £1,366,618 has been received during the current financial year towards the £3,000,000 anticipated by the Minister of Finance in the last Budget.
