GOOD HUNTING
R.A.F. HOUNDS
DEFENCE OF MALTA
(Ree. 2 p.m.) RUGBY, August 20. The Air Secretary, Sir Archibald Sinclair, has sent the following telegram to the air officer commanding the R.A.F. in th Mediterranean:—
"Heartiest congratulations to you and all ranks of the squadrons operating under your command for the magnificent success of the air operations from Malta. The brilliant defence -jf the island by the Hurricanes, the audacious attack by the Beauforts m enemy air bases, the steady and deadly slogging of the Wellingtons at the enemy's ports, and the daring and dexterous reconnaissance of the Marylands, culminating in the tremendous onslaughts of the Blenheims and the Fleet Air Arm Swordfish aircraft on Axis shipping in the Mediterranean, have been watched with immense admiration by your comrades of the R.A.F. and by your fellow-countrymen at home. Good luck to you and good hunting."
The commanding officer replied: "All ranks join me in thanking you for your inspiring message. The hunting is certainly good, and the hounds are in excellent fettle." -8.0. W.
