GOLD PRODUCTION
Maori Gold, Ltd., reports that because of a breakage m the driving gear early on August 8 dredging was suspended till late on Monday night, August 11. On the Friday the dredge washed up for a return of 470z 9dwt of gold, for 75 hours' dredging, from approximately 5000 cubic yards treated. (P.A.) GREYMOUTH. August 18. The following returns are for the first half of August:— Barry town: 2390z for 255 hours from 120,000 yards. Kanieri: 5790z for 259 hours from 95,000 yards. Arahura: 618oz for 270 hours from 138,000 yards. (P.A.) DUNEDIN. August 18. The Clutha River dredge last week returned 570z for 127 hours. The Gillespie's Beach wash-up for two weeks ended August 16 was 330z 13dwt for 225 hours from 28,000 yards.
