RAID ON BERLIN
NEW RUSSIAN ATTACK
FIRES AND EXPLOSIONS
LONDON, August 19. j Germany was again reminded last' night of the air war on two = fronts, for German anti-aircraft defences went into action against Russian bombers from the north, while the R.A.F. attacked Cologne and Duisberg. Russia reports that incendiary and high-explosive bombs were dropped on military and industrial objectives in Berlin, causing fires and explosions. All the Russian planes returned. The R.A.F. reports that a great number of heavy bombs were dropped and that many big fires were left blazing. The docks at Dunkirk were also bombed by the R.A.F. last night and fighters raided enemy aerodromes in occupied territory. Eight of our ah> craft are missing from all the night's operations. German raids on Britain last night were not on a big scale. A Junkers 88 was shot down by a group of British minesweepers.
