NOT SATISFACTORY
JAPANESE EXPLANATION
LONDON, August 17.
The U.S. Secretary of State, Mr. Cordell Hull, stated today that the Japanese had given no satisfactory explanation for their refusal to allow 100 American citizens to leave Japan in the liner President Coolidge. ,
He said the matter was still under discussion. The American Ambassador had visited the Japanese Foreign Office today in connection with the matter. . >
