WASHINGTON, August 18.
Confidential cables to the United States Department of Commerce reveal that Axis business firms are quitting South America and shipping theij files and records to Japan.
Twelve Japanese ships are reported to have called at west coast and LatinAmerican • ports last week and loaded hundreds of crates of books and papers of firms which have had their credits frozen or which have been black-listed by the United States.
