PLANS COMPLETED

NORTH AMERICAN DEFENCE

(Rec. 10 a.m.) NEW YORK, August 18

Mr. F. H. La Guardia and Colonel O. M. Biggar in radio speeches on the anniversary of the establishment of the Canadian-American Defence Board, announced that detailed plans for the repelling of an invasion attempt on either coast of North America had been completed.

Emphasising the readiness of Canada and the United States to protect the Pacific shores, Colonel Biggar said that the details were obviously secret.

Mr.-La Guardia and Colonel Biggar were appointed the U.S. and Canadian chairmen of the Joint Defence Board in August last year.
