(To the Editor.)

Sir,—Alas! Another blow at Wellington's "roomers." So we are the chief rubbish dumpers of the Empire City. Well really, isn't our City Engineer a bit hard on us? We know several "roomers," in fact Wellingtonborn "roomers," whose civic pride prompts them to dispose of their daily dose of rubbish in the recognised manner, viz., garbage tins. All praise to our staff of street cleaners in their difficult work, but we still wish to protest against being labelled as the "special offenders" in this matter. Ate we offended?—l am, etc.,
