FREE FRENCH NAVY

GREAT EXPANSION

i LONDON, August 12. Colonel Llewellin, Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport, revealed today that there are two and a half times as many Free French sailors under the Free French | flag than there were a year ago, and that the gross tonnage of ships sailing is more than one-fourth of the total merchant navy of France. They include the famous liner He de France, carrying Free French, British, and Imperial troops to different theatres of war, while cargo ships brought munitions and other supplies to Britain.
