"HAY FEVER."
It is a coincidence that Noel Coward's brilliant comedy "Hay Fever," which will be presented by the Thespians in the Concert Chamber for a season commencing tomorrow night, is also at present being played in London in a wartime revival. "Hay Fever" is splendid entertainment for the times. Lighthearted, Witty, and at the same time satirical, "Hay Fever" is Noel Coward at his best. The Thespians, who have given Wellington theatregoers many outstanding plays in the past, can be relied upon to bring this hilarious comedy to life without a dull moment. *The production is being directed by Myles F. E. Wright. The cast includes May MacDonald, a newcomer to Thespian productions, Lesley Jackson, who will be remembered by playgoers for her brilliant performance in the Thespian production of "Private Lives," Mavis Shute. Patricia Page, and Winnie Inder. The male roles are in the capable hanrJ of Leo Fowler, Russell Reid, Alric Toogood, and Nat Beatus. m^^mmmm «_-_«_ The Voluntary Aids of the Red Cross Society held their monthly social in the new clubrooms recently. On this oc- i casion it was a fancy dress party and many quaint and charming costumes were seen. A savoury supper was ] served. Among those present were! Miss D. Cooper, centre commandant, | and her assistant, Miss E. Robertshaw. |
