RUSSIANS OVER BERLIN

FIRST ATTACK A SURPRISE

DETECTORS UNREADY

LONDON, August 11. Berlin was raided again last night, and the German official news agency mentions that aircraft flew in over the capital from the northeast. This is Berlin's third raid in three nights. Both of the earlier attacks were made by the Russians. Official quarters in Berlin now admit that the first Russian raid on the capital took them completely by surprise. A Swedish report says that Russian planes managed to get through the Berlin defences because the listening apparatus was adjusted to detect R.A.F. raiders flying in from the west. The public of Berlin have now been as- | sured that the apparatus has been adI justed to detect aircraft coming Nin from the east.
