MEN FROM TRENTHAM

SIR CYRIL NEWALL TO TAKE SALUTE

PARADE ON SATURDAY

Men now in training at Trenthani Camp are to march through the city on Saturday morning. The salute will be taken by his Excellency the Governor-General (Sir Cyril Newall).

Clad in battle dress, the troops will assemble on Waterloo Quay, where they will form column of route, facing south. They will then move down Waterloo Quay, Bunny Street, Lambton Quay, Willis Street, Mercer Street, Lower Cuba Street, Jervois Quay, and down Waterloo Quay to the Railway Station, where they will entrain for camp. ,

The leading unit will pass the starting point at 10.15 a.m., and the Gov-ernor-General will take the salute shortly afterwards from a point on the north side of Bunny Street, immediately opposite the centre of the main entrance to the railway station. In the event of wet weather the march will take place as arranged, except that the saluting base will be under the canopy of the main entrance of the station, and the troops will march past thfi station entrance through the surrounding grounds. RETURNED MEN'S GESTURE. Returned soldiers will line the route on the north side of Bunny Street, from Waterloo Quay to Featherston Street. Three bands, the Trentham Camp Band, the band of the First Battalion, Wellington Regiment, and the Port Nicholson Silver Band, will take part in the parade, but there will be no other units in addition to the Trentham troops. The parade will be under the command' of Major R. F. Mitchell, M.C., V.D., N.Z.T.S.

The camp will be open to relatives and friends on the afternoons of Saturday and Sunday next, and on Tuesday it will be visited by the GovernorGeneral and the Acting Prime Minister (Mr. Nash).
