THREAT TO WOOL INDUSTRY

The interprovincial conference of the Farmers' Union in Palmerston North yesterday decided to draw the attention "of the Government to the serious position threatening the wool industry by the importation duty free of synthetic wool. The imposition of an import duty at least equivalent to that on woollen goods is to be urged.
