BRITAIN DENOUNCED
"INSTIGATOR OF WAR"
DARLAN'S SUBMISSION TO
THE GERMANS
LONDON. May 29
The extent of Admiral Dalian's submission to Germany has never been more clearly revealed than in an interview he has given to a French newspaper.
He has learnt his lesson so thoroughly from the Germans that he was prepared to declare that Britain was the instigator of the war and that France was only a plaything in British hands. Britain never gave anj' help to France on land or in the air, but she expected help from France at sea.
Admiral Darlan said that between 1919 and 1936 Britain did everything to stop France benefiting from her victory, and through the League of Nations Britain sought to weaken France and uphold German claims.
Admiral Darlan is again in Paris conducting conversations with the Germans. He is accompanied by the Ministers of War and National Economy.
The Germans have disposed of French hopes that the French Government will go back to Paris. The official German news agency announces that the removal of the French Government from Vichy to Paris is not under consideration.
