HERR YON PAPEN AT ANKARA

LONDON, May 26

The British and Greek Ambassadors in Ankara have beaten the German Ambassador. Herr yon Papen, in a diplomatic fight for the possession of four Greek freighters which the Turkish Government had ordered to be detained indefinitely at the disposal of the Greek Consul. Yon Papen made a last-minute attempt to induce the crews to obey orders from Athens, but he was frustrated as a result of the stern attitude taken by the Turkish a v tho dties.—U.P. A.
