THREE RECOVER

FOOD POISONING SUSPECTED

AUCKLAND, This Day,

Suffering from some "form of food poisoning four employees of the Westfield Freezing Company's works were taken suddenly ill at the works shortly before 2 o'clock this morning. After being attended by a doctor they were taken to hospital by ambulance.

On the way, George Matthews (25), married, residing in the city, died.

The others are Edmund Tetai (26). of Ponsonby, J. G. Cullen (42), of Newton, and Leonard Grundy (40), of Parnell. They were treated in the casualty department, and having recovered returned to their homes.

It is thought that the men may have drunk soup from the cooking urn, and the police and Health Department are investigating.
