GERMANS IN NORWAY
FRIENDSHIP BETRAYED
Through the generosity of Norway, many Germans during a time of depression in Germanj had been invited to make their homes and to find work among the Norwegians until conditions in their own country improved, and it was these people, with their knowledge of the country and language who were among the traitors who betrayed Norway in this war, stated Mrs. Helga Carswell during the course of an address on "Norway As 1 Saw It." which she gave to members of the Women's Social Progress Movement in the PIS.U. clubrooms yesterday afternoon.
It was ironical, said Mrs. Carswell, to think that at the time of the crisis in Britain in 1939 tours to the Scandinavian countries were advertised with the slogan "Come to the happy lands; leave the dark clouds behind you."
